About the proposed lease & licence

Council is seeking feedback from the community about a proposed 5+5 years lease and licence for the Pegasus Pony Club.

The Pegasus Pony Club was established in 1953 and is located at Greenwith Reserve, 171-191 Greenwith Road Golden Grove. The club has 52 members and offers horse and pony riding, and hobby horse riding activities. The club is affiliated with the Pony Club Association of South Australia and Hobby Horse Riders Australia.

If approved, the proposal would mean the Pegasus Pony Club will be granted a 5-year lease and licence, with an option for a 5-year renewal extension at the sole discretion of Council.

A lease over the clubrooms and shed would allow Pegasus Pony Club continued exclusive use over these facilities.

The grassed areas would be under a licence agreement, allowing for continued community use outside of the designated times (refer to the map on the next tab).

The proposed lease fee is expected to be similar to the current lease fee ($1 per year) and would be determined by the subsidy criteria within Council’s Leases and Licences for Sporting and Community Organisations Policy.

The Pegasus Pony Club has been a responsible tenant who has maintained the facility to a good standard and is a respected community organisation in the City of Tea Tree Gully.
