The Hope Valley Tennis & Netball Club is located in the Hope Valley Sports Area at at 5a Leeds Avenue, Hope Valley. The club incorporates the Hope Valley Tennis Club (HVTC), and the Hope Valley Netball Club (HVNC). HVTC was established in the 1970s, and HVNC was established in the 1952. Each club has approximately 115 members.

If approved, the proposal would mean that the Hope Valley Tennis & Netball Club will be granted a 10-year lease, with an option for a 10-year renewal extension at the sole discretion of Council. This would allow the Hope Valley Tennis & Netball Club continued exclusive use of the multi-purpose netball and tennis courts, clubrooms, verandah and shed (see map in next tab).

The proposed lease fee is expected to be similar to the current lease fee ($963 per year) and would be determined by the subsidy criteria within Council's Leases and Licences for Sporting and Community Organisations Policy.

The club has been a responsible tenant who has maintained facilities to a good standard and is a respected community organisation in the City of Tea Tree Gully.

The proposed 10+10 years lease period is designed to provide organisations with longer term stability, encourage investment in facilities and promote their ongoing sustainability.
